Biography

 

Art was always a part of Louise's life from an early age.  As a child she loved filling in with colours jumbo drawing books. Later she started liking animation and attempting to draw her favourite characters (sailor moon), at which point she used only pencil.

 

Round the age of 19 she decided to get more into art and attended art courses at Mcast.  She was introduced to colour. Feeling the need for more individual attention and freedom to decide the subject matter and medium to use according to mood and energy, led to private lessons at Marlene Gouder who is her current teacher. She started exploring different media and techniques. Since then I have had some commissioned work as well.

Her favourite media are chalk paste, ink and acrylic, and a favourite technique is pointillism which she finds therapeutic.

She attended various exhibitions, and amongst her favourite is one about Alphonse Mucha.  She likes modern art as well (contemporary artists) ex Kukula, rik Lee and Audrey Kawasaki.

Art keeps her grounded and calms her down.  She feels blessed that she found something that gives her gratification and peace within herself.
