Biography:

Born in 1975, Manuel expressed a keen interest in art at an early age and was soon introduced to drawing and painting classes. Here he would learn the basics of painting under the watchful eyes of several well known local artists, before continuing his art education at the Malta Government School of Art. He studied under a number of distinguished artists such as Mr Joseph Casha & Mr Joseph L Mallia. Following his graduation, Manuel became a passionate collector of contemporary Maltese art while also attending a number of landscape painting and life figure drawing classes, to further expand his artistic range. Here he met Dr Joseph Paul Cassar, who would soon become a mentor and close friend.

Manuel’s paintings reflect his impression of life, expressed through abstraction in a wide-ranging and impressive display of colours. His artistic voice is reflected in a variety of forms, sometimes soft and serene, other times bold and energetic, yet always fun, full of life and exploding with colour. Every painting is unique and presents a strong sense of Manuel’s spirit and heritage, inspired by his desire to capture and preserve, in his own unique way, life’s beauty for others to enjoy. While his art has appeared in various collective and solo exhibitions, some of Manuel’s paintings are now a part of private and corporate collections.
