The artwork is inspired by the poem POEZIJI TAS-SAHARA by Immanuel Mifsud, from the book 'Rih min-Nofsinar' written by' Immanuel Mifsud and Adrian Grima

 

 

 

 

 

 

Biography:

 

Darren Tanti (1987) is an emerging artist renowned for his technically accomplished and thematically loaded paintings. His focus is Hyperreality and the integration of the digital world into innovative painting techniques. Darren has graduated as a teacher of Art from the University of Malta in 2009 and in 2013 he was awarded a Masters of Fine Art in Digital Arts with distinction from the Department of Digital Arts at the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences of the University of Malta.

Presently, Darren teaches Fine Art at the MCAST Art and Design Institute and lectures with the Department of Digital Arts (MaKS) and the DegreePlus at the University of Malta.

 

Some of the most important exhibitions Tanti participated in are:

The 15th edition of the ‘Biennial of young artists from Europe and Mediterranean’ held in Thessaloniki (Greece) - 2011.

 

‘Omen’ - 2012

‘I draw’ hosted and sponsored by Bank of Valletta - 2012

 

In 2013 he also won the competition ‘Divergent Thinkers II’, organised by Agenzija Zghazagh and St James Cavalier, Centre for Creativity (Malta)

 

In 2014, Darren was commissioned by Architecture Project (AP – Malta) to create artworks that are now being exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in the exhibition entitled ‘Time, Space, Existence’.
