After completing her Bachelors in Fine Arts at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology, Art and Design Institute in Mosta in 2013, she began an internship at Studio104 Fine Art Space in Valletta. Lara worked as assistant curator under the guidance of artist and curator Michelle Morrissey, who allowed Lara access to her 1970’s Malta dry-docks printing press. There she experimented with several printing techniques. Michelle thought her valuable working skills and gave Lara several opportunities to co-curate and exhibit at the gallery in 2014. Manara also experienced an ERASMUS work placement at the Kunsthalle in Recklinghausen, Germany, where Dr.Hans Jürgen Schwalm encouraged her to curate and realise her first solo exhibition ‘Du Kannst Sie Alle Haben’ in 2012.
