Axaiq has an 'affinity' with the local landscape and interprets mundane scenes into bold vibrant, colourist blocks that are filled with the emotion and the speed of the work.

 

Comment on Selfie Challenge:

I was delighted to be invited and felt that the area of portraiture is very current and one that I enjoy equally as my landscapes. I waited until the deadline to paint but was emotional and physical working on this new work since the invitation!!

It is often said in the art world that art interprets the mood of the artist. I do not believe in this phrase but if one can take a look at this selfie, there is a feeling of an emptiness of boredom.
Yes, I have painted this self for this exhibition but that same day it was not a good day.
Looking deeply in it there is still a sense of humor that the artist truly possesses. In short, when I paint it does not depend on how's the day that is (not important its only a small part), but the interpretation of the character establishes the artist.
