Debbie has been painting steadily for 30yrs and has carved a niche for herself with watercolour portraits.

Her favourite mediums are watercolour and oils, turning to cartoon paintings when she feels she needs to deliver a strong message.

She has held 6 solo exhibitions and taken part in numerous collective ones, both in Malta and abroad. Next year Bank of Valletta will be holding a retrospective of her work.

This self-portrait is painted at an unusual, experimental angle, much as the bulk of Selfies are taken. People are at liberty to take as many photos of themselves at various angles, and then choose the one to show to the world. I am stuck in a bit of a time warp. I do not use a
camera phone or digital camera, preferring film. Therefore, my own Selfie can only be done in paint. Nice thick paint, tactile and glossy. This is me. This is my Selfie.
